JUST ANOTHER OPINION

Having just finished watching a video from one of my subscriptions on YouTube, I’m perplexed by the crazy comments people leave and the arguments that ensue.  I’m astounded at the obvious ignorance that projects from those that become involved in these “tit for tat” forays.  First of all it’s my opinion that if one does not agree with the context of the video or the validity of the information the solutions is, don’t subscribe or watch!  Why would one post comments filled with filthy language and hatred while doing so is proclaiming their own ignorance?

Another bewildering and perplexing occurrence are the lengths others will go to to defend the video and the person distributing the information.  It seems that ignorance begets ignorance during these cyber interactions.  My mother had a rule to live by, “If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all.”  I enjoy reading the opinions of others concerning all aspects of speculation, scientific theory, conspiracies and the truly unknown but at the same time, though I may have a strong opinion to the contrary, I don’t feel it necessary to intervene on behalf of mankind.  I would rather take the information given and research that information to find factual data.  Many times my contrary opinion is changed to agreement.  I may be wrong but that seems like a much better use of my time and energy than spouting profanity and statements I can’t back up.

Unfortunately, these cyber conflicts are just another sign of the times in which we live.  Our world is in jeopardy on so many levels that it seems humans are living “on the edge” of a precipice and are too quick to react to anyone that may disagree with them.  A good screaming match in the anonymity of the Internet brings forth the true animal nature of those lacking in gray matter and guts.

That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it!

  1. People just love the drama of fighting online. It’s very sad, but it also means that the video matters. If it wasn’t interesting or important enough, it wouldn’t get so much attention. I agree with you that those that cause conflicts online usually lack the guts to do it in life. I wish everybody online was as kind as you are. Cyberspace would be a much better place.
